The painful times in life have been the times I have seen and experienced God most intentionally. It’s funny how in many ways I crave that pain and those valleys in order to keep experiencing His closeness, but I’m so blessed to also experience “mountain” times! Your post makes me think also of discipline and conviction – how we often reject discipline, when really it is only for our own good, and how, through disobedience, He will take away that conviction and leave us on our own like we ask for… That sounds like the WORST thing in the world!! I’m so thankful for a God that knows what I/we need so much better than we do!
